Poor Bear will chew his nails- not down to the quick but chew them to keep them short. He does not do this all the time I guess just when he feels he needs to.

Why do we chew on our nails? Boredom, nervousness, timidity, etc. Some dogs just have their own funny quirks, just like humans (I am not, however, trying to "humanize" the behavior).

Are they just chewing on the nails or chewing on their feet in general? Itchy feet can be a sign of allergies (food, grass [environmental]). If you start witnessing hair loss and/or sores on the feet, please bring your pup to the vet.

If the behavior is become problematic, again, bring your pet to the vet.
