About the Contest

• The first and only National Pet Shelter Makeover Contest
• Launched on October 1, 2007 and participation ended on March 31, 2008
• 974 shelters from across the country signed up to participate
• Thousands of pet lovers logged onto Zootoo.com to help animals in their community

How it Worked

• Animal Shelters earned points towards the makeover by encouraging their communities to be active on Zootoo.com.
• The more active a pet lover is on Zootoo.com, the more points they earned for their designated shelter.
• The top 20 shelters with the highest points who also meet the guidelines will all win - and one will win a makeover worth up to one million dollars*
